sohappywithlife: How would my parents sign legal custody over to a friends family?
My parents are letting me stay the summer with my friends family and they said if I like it better there, that they’ll switch the custody over to my friends parents and they already said they want me to live with them too. How would they do that? Could they just say I want to switch houses and do the paperwork or will there haft to be a good reason?

The easiest and least expensive way to do this is to go to probate court and get a legal guardian packet. if both of your parents agree to the it then your friends parents would have legal guardianship of you , but your parents would technically still have custody.
