Sami M: How would I make a puzzle piece quilt? Any other ideas for unique guilt’s?
I’m going in to making quilts and don’t know much about it or even how to sew really. I, however do have someone teaching me. I got this idea to make a quit that looks like a puzzle. Odd shaped pieces of fabric sewn to make one big picture. I’m not sure if it would work, so I’m asking around to see what others thoughts where. If you have any other ideas that would make a unique quilt let me know. Thanks.

okay, bare with me on this one. the other night i was really stoned with some close friends and i was looking at the night sky and noticed how bright the moon was. it kind of looked like and egg, and then i had the wonderfull idea of the egg cracking open and the bright colors of the sun emmiting from the cracked egg which would be the yolk, it looked so nice in my mind the bright, warm colors of the sun would really contrast with the cool, darker colors of the moon. alltogether i think this idea could be created into a fantastic piece of art expressing day and night in a very surrealistic way. i like to consider myself an artist but i am not very good with colors so the most i could do with this idea is just a sketch, i never thought of a quilt though, i hope this helps 🙂
When the opportunity presents itself, visit the quilt museum in Paducah, Kentucky.
They have quite a variety on display. As I recall, they have some magazines or
books available that might be helpful.
First of all, check your local library for illustrated book on the subject.
