No one can force a religion upon another, hence why the Qur’an states clearly that there is “no compulsion in religion”.
“Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah hears and knows all things.”
[Surah al-Baqarah: 256]
I would pray that Allah swt guides them to the right path, but other than that this is all I am able to do.
Allah swt,in His great knowledge, even told us that not everyone will believe and become Muslim:
“If it had been your Lord’s will, all of the people on Earth would have believed. Would you then compel the people so to have them believe?”
[Surah Yunus: 99]
Making supplication for them to be guided and helping them by discussing what they reject etc is enough for any Muslim.
Answer by Imam XIII The InflatableThis long list of verses from the Holy Quran that show that Islam at it’s core and at its source is a religion of peace. Terrorists who persecute innocent people because of their faith are not welcome – their use of Islam as a scapegoat, does not make Islam what they portray it to be
.
2:256 There is no compulsion in religion, for the right way is clearly from the wrong way. Whoever therefore rejects the forces of evil and believes in God, he has taken hold of a support most unfailing, which shall never give way, for God is All Hearing and Knowing.
16:82 But if they turn away from you, (O Prophet remember that) your only duty is a clear delivery of the Message (entrusted to you).
6:107 Yet if God had so willed, they would not have ascribed Divinity to aught besides him; hence, We have not made you their keeper, nor are you (of your own choice) a guardian over them.
4:79, 80 (Say to everyone of them,) ‘Whatever good betides you is from God and whatever evil betides you is from your own self and that We have (O Prophet) sent you to mankind only as a messenger and all sufficing is God as witness. Whoso obeys the Messenger, he indeed obeys God. And for those who turn away, We have not sent you as a keeper.”
[11:28 ]
[17:53, 54 ]
[21:107 to 109 (O Prophet?) ‘We have not sent you except to be a mercy to all mankind:” Declare, “Verily, what is revealed to me is this, your God is the only One God, so is it not up to you to bow down to Him?’ But if they turn away then say, “I have delivered the Truth in a manner clear to one and all, and I know not whether the promised hour (of Judgment) is near or far.”
22:67
88:21, 22; also see 24:54 And so, (O Prophet!) exhort them your task is only to exhort; you cannot compel them to believe.
48:28 He it is Who has sent forth His Messenger with the (task of spreading) Guidance and the Religion of Truth, to the end that tie make it prevail over every (false) religion, and none can bear witness to the Truth as God does.

a person who converts to Islam from Maronite Lebanese or Coptic egyptian has more chances of being killed than a Muslim converting to Christianity believe it or not.
I personally have a couple how grow up/or converted as Christians (though 99% of my extended family are muslims though not strict)
None of us even discuss the issue with them we respect their situation though we utterly disagree and thing they are badly misinformed.
a friend of mine who was a Maronite Lebanese was killed once he converted to Islam.
a couple of others whose father went to egypt and married a Muslim when his two boys came back to visit the family after their 20 years when their father died were received very well in Lebanon by their Christian relatives only if they would convert back to Christianity offering them the most beautiful wife with all expanses paid plus tempting bank account.
The both had to go back to egypt from too much pressure to convert.
in short it depends.
Answer by rubiezzIt would hurt a lot, but I would have to remember that we as humans cannot guide the ones we love, but I’d pray for God to guide them. If they absolutely never would come back to Islam, I would try and take some comfort in the good things Islam says about the people of the book.Answer by Mel P.
Obviously, the Muslims won’t like it just like the Christians and Jews won’t like their people converting to Islam. But, I think that’s just too damn bad and I feel people should be free to believe whatever they want as long as they keep it to themselves, i.e. it’s not affecting me in anyway.Answer by OneUmmah
I would sit and talk to them and ask them why? Usually people that leaves Islam is out lack of knowledge (which is mostly the case), out of fear of being persecuted, or they just never practiced Islam altogether.
This lady I’ve read an article several years ago talked about her conversion from Islam to Christianity because of Jesus (as)! Then the interviewer informed her that we Muslims also believe in Jesus (as). She said she didn’t know that and the interviewer recited a few verses regarding Isa (Jesus)(as) in the Qur’an.
Regardless of what there reasons may be, I’m not going to judge them or treat them harshly.
Answer by TurabekI would answer as a witness that had recently happened in my home-town!
I’m from Tajikistan and 98% of the people are Muslims here in our country!
You could hardly ever see people converting to Christianity, nowadays the number of followers of Christ are getting more and more however.
One of our sister in Christ converted to Christianity but she was punished by her parents.
She is suffering a lot because of Christ , but we keep praying for her faith. Her parents are still treating badly , by beating, punching , not giving food to eat and locking her at home for weeks.
Her father’s ready to kill her because of the family’s reputation. But she still loves her family and has got a love of Agape who could have this kind of love only the Believers of the Lord Jesus Christ!
