gelstar91: How will geometry help me later in life?
Besides giving me the natural analytical skills that math does, how will geometry in particular help me later in life? That math is my worst, and I honestly find it pointless. I understand Algebra and everything else, but geometry, I honestly don’t. Can anyone explain, because I doubt I’ll care about the area of a trapezoid ever again. I know I sound childish.

You are right to think like that. Unlike you become a Mathematician, Actuary, Engineer, Economist, or something like that, you’ll never use most of these stuff again.
The reason a variety of maths are taught at schools worldwide is to get you THINKING. It’s a subject that requires critical and creative thinking, along with applied knowledge. Which makes it a popular choice to make kids develop their mental abilities.
Must suck not to like these subjects, but don’t give up! It’ll be over soon!

The main reason you are exposed to all this math is because you don’t know what career you are going into and what math is required for it. Even if you do know what you are going to do you may change your mind later on and you won’t have to start from the beginning.Answer by ThePassenger0320
Unless you’re planning on going into a science or math related career, geometry probably shouldn’t be something you stress over, but simple things in geometry such as finding areas and volumes can be useful in everyday life. Paying attention in geometry helps you to pass other math and science classes so its worth suffering through. Also, geometry is featured on most standardized tests and good scores on those tests help you get into college. Don’t get behind in math and risk screwing up your graduation date just because geometry is boring. Hopefully those are some reasons to just tough it out.Answer by te144
You’ll know how to win if (perish the thought) you become involved in a love triangle. (We wish! See why I have a low %-age?)
