Lexi: How well would a parrot live in a trailer?
I live in a trailer and would like to own a parrot, but have heard they don’t do as well as they would in a house. Is this true?

no my friend had a parrot who lived in a trailer..and it was just fine
If your trailer is large, you have good climate control where it doesn’t get too cold for a parrot.
You have a lot of time to spend with the parrot.
You can fit a large cage which a parrot can have lots of room.
and your neighbors wont complain about loud noise (parrots are loud)
You should be fine. I knew someone who lived on a boat with 2 parrots, and someone who lived in a mobile home with a parrot. They were spoiled birds and happier than some parrots I met living in houses.
Answer by KeenaI lived in a travel trailer for almost 2 years and breed cockatoos. They do just fine as long as the temp is ok and they have needed room to exercise and they get attention.Answer by gingroberson
Lexi, I would think that a parrot would do quite well in a trailer providing you have enough room for a large parrot cage. They do require a cage a lot larger than a parakeet. I own a Red Lored Amazon and he stays in his cage whenever I sleep or I am away. You can get a bird (parrot) stand for him to perch on when you let him out. And make open time aka Run Of The House time special and on special occasions.
Parrots do seem to fear loud unfamiliar sounds, like lightening or winds. You need to be there with him to assure their is nothing to be afraid of and give him self confidence.
But also this new parrot may one day save your life. Like other animals.. they have an instinct of knowing when dangerous weather is approaching. Sometimes trailers attract lightening due to the grounding and metal content of the trailer itself.
Have you decided on what breed of parrot you want? May I suggest an African Grey. Other than Cockatoos and Mc Caws they are one of the most intelligent, and easy to train parrots you will be able to find. Most of all don’t forget that the life span of a healthy parrot is 70 years old. So your new pet would be a big commitment that you should think about. Ginger RobersonAnswer by daphnekooki
Some people would think that a trailer is not suitable to raise a Parrot because it is not spacious enough. Surprisingly, a Parrot can live well in a trailer provided that it has a perfect temperature and their cage is spacious enough. I personally think that it will be more advantageous for your Parrot since you can have better interaction with them in a trailer than that of a regular house.
