Simba: What type of experience would you expect from your pet sitter?
I am considering starting my own business as a pet sitter. Caring for pets while people are at work, or on vacation. I don’t have any professional experience like this, but I have always had animals (mostly cats, a few dogs) and I volunteer at the local animal shelter. What experience would you expect from your pet sitter?
I would probably only do this as a part time job, but if I had enough client I would consider making in my full-time career.

I would want experience caring for the types of animals I have. I would also want some references.
I would want a pet sitter that:
– Has several years of hands on experience with cats and dogs.
– Has pets.
– Has pet first aid training.
– Understands canine body language/behavior.
– Has references.
– Is familiar with common medications that pets take.
I would like the person to be very experienced in lots of different types of animals and I would like to know that they could be trusted to be responsible and kind to the pet ect. As you help out at an animal centre i think you can be trusted ect.Answer by bzzflygirl
