I did some reading on my art history book and it says something about how the empires back then used to use religion to fool the people into building empires. It has to do something with beliefs and whatever.

That’s a very crude way of putting it, but basically its correct. The purpose of all religion is to make group of people A do what group of people B want them to. Therefore, if you tell people the/a God will be happy with them if they build temples, or celebrate days, or build colliseums, they will. The Roman Empire fell because people started converting to christianity which preached polar opposite values (love, tolerance, etc) to the Roman pantheon (strength, power, dominance, honour) and became the Byzantinian Empire.

Rome and Greece practiced tolerance, mixed cultural aspects, became allies.
It was all good, before the Abrahamic religions came along.
Hellenism unified people, where Catholicism diversified them.

Who cares! We serve the True God Christ Jesus which transcends all Empires and Who has Created a Kingdom on this earth which is called the Body of Christ!

It is a Spiritual Kingdom and revolves around a relation ship with Christ Jesus. He wants a Relationship with YOU.

His Word is Truth He is worshiped and His Kingdom is the Kingdom which shall outlive the Earth and to it is allegiance owed. As Christians we are to be in the World but not of the World!
