raccoon girl: How to tell my mom i need a gynecologist appointment?
I have irregular periods and need an appointment. How do i bring this up to my mom? And since im 16 and i minor do i have to have her in the room with me? Can i request her not to be in there? Because i can talk more openly with the doctor when shes not in the room.

Simply put. Don’t. if you really don’t feel comfortable with it. I used to have similar problems. I had a similar problem when I was 14 and suffered from terrible period pain (to the point i would faint and throw up). I told mum I was having ‘stomach problems’ and asked her to take me to the doctor. Once there I was able to say all of the reasons and was referred by the doctor in front of my mother so i didn’t have to ask
Other than that if you can work up the courage I’m sure she will be fine with it. Remember this is the woman that wiped your poo-y bottom. She can easily handle some lady talk from her teenage daughter. Goodluck!
Answer by kgI had irregular periods all my life and I told my mom to take me to planned parenthood for birth control..they don’t let anyone in the room but u..I’m sure ur mom already knows about ur irregular periods anyway so just ask her to take u, I’m sure she would be fine with it. Any mom wouldn’t want their baby to suffer cause it is very painful so just go with itAnswer by Courtney Michele.
Go to Planned Parenthood. You can sechdule an appointment online and you don’t need to have your mother in the room. That’s totally your choice. I think Planned Parenthood you don’t even need your parents permission to go but they can if you want them to be there.
