What are the responses to “thank you” in Italian?
How else can you say hello and goodbye without saying “Ciao”?
Thank you 🙂

Hi!
I’m Italian, so your question is too easy for me =)
– In Italian you can say “hello” in different ways: CIAO (informal), SALVE (formal) and BUONGIORNO (= goodmorning).
– The Italian translation of “goodbye” is ARRIVEDERCI (if you mean “we’ll meet each other again”), while if you mean a farewell you must use ADDIO. Finally, in the evening we say BUONASERA (= goodevening).
– The answers to “thank you” (= GRAZIE in Italian) are substantially two: PREGO (most used) and DI NIENTE (or NON C’E’ DI CHE), that means something like “no problem”.

Hello and Hi correspond to the italian CIAO, that’s very informal
(the formal way is SALVE, like the user up said)
Goodbye means ARRIVEDERCI, or CI VEDIAMO (the first is just a little formal than the second one, but just a little)…but in english goodbye can be used also for a farewell;in this case in italian you must say ADDIO
The response to thank you (GRAZIE in italian) is PREGO (that corresponds to “you are welcome”)
Bye bye!
ps i’m italian
