How to introduce my new 9week kitten to my other older kitten?

Introverted extrovert: How to introduce my new 9week kitten to my other older kitten?
I’ve had my 9month old kitten for about 10weeks now and she has settled in great. Next week I will be bringing home a new friend for her that is 9weeks old.
What is the best way to introduce them without overwhelming the baby kitten? Should I keep her in her carrier until my other cat gets her scent?
Should expect them to fight a little until she settles in?

Put the two in a neutral area where they both have seperate areas they can go back to (usually their beds).

Sit in the middle and let them both come to you, and see that you’re petting both and the other isn’t a threat.

They’ll sniff around each other, and you go from there!

Introducing new animals is always an adventure for all involved… try keeping the baby in a cadge and letting the older one sniff him a bit before you let them meet in complete freedom… and yes they may fight a bit… but it will mainly be the bigger one pointing out that he is the alpha cat they will eventually settle in…

Keeping new furbaby in carrier for a while is a great and proven idea. Don’t expect them to “fight”. Human fears and attitudes affect pets.
Your 10 wk old is still young enough that you should not have any problem. Older one may even think new one is long lost littermate.

Let it go as it goes they will fight but eventually the younger one will see that the older one is in charge. Just make sure they don’t hurt wach other too bad.

I had to do the same thing.
What you do is you put the younger kitten in your bedroom for a few days and nights and keep her locked in. After that when your down stairs eating dinner or watching tv bring her in the room with you, play with her and that stuff! Start letting her she you older cat maybe smell noises if your holding the baby and slowy they should get used to each other and in the end you can take the younger kitten out of your room and let them sleep down stairs togother! Also introduce your kitten to new people to get more calmer around them!

Good Luck!

i would put 1 oultside and the other inside of like a see through glass door (incase things get ugly) thats what i did with my cats and they r doing just fine

This happened with my kittens to. some cats are mean and can fight easily with other cats. so bring the kitten over to the cats over a period of time. Alittle more time with the other cats each day. Afterawhile they”ll get along ,and the kittens won’t be scaried.
