How to get a real estate license in Virginia?

FreakyGeeky: How to get a real estate license in Virginia?
I want to get my real estate license in Virginia. The states webpage says I need to complete 60 hours of “principles of real estate” and then take the national and state test. I’m pretty sure this is rather standard in all other states. But when I look online to find courses, it seems everyone is just selling “test prep” courses. Which is all fine and good, but I highly doubt that is for the 60hr requirement. Where can I find the 60hr requirement courses? I would prefer to take them online.
Because its midnight.

Why not contact a large real estate firm in your city and ask them?

Answer by Sharon
Go to www.moseley-dickinson.com, they have an on line program. That is who I used for my 60 hours and continue to use for my continuing education. If you don’t know anything about the Real Estate Business I recommend before you put out money for the classes and licences fees, to talk with an Agent in your community and find out about the expenses that come with this job. You have to put out a lot of money every year to stay active in this profession. Good luck to you!

There are many places you can take the 60 hours of ‘principles of real estate’ online. The best one I would recommend is from Moseley Real Estate Schools ( ). They have a great reputation as well as a high success rate for first time license test takers. This is where I took my classes 10+ years ago. They have three ways to take the class (online, in classroom, and home study) and combination of those three, one of which is strictly online.
You can also look into other sites:

The ‘test prep’ courses are a great idea for you once you take and finish your 60 hours online. They will help prep you for the license exam by letting you know what to expect from the state and national exams, especially if it has been a while since you finished your course.

You will have to go into an official test taking center to take your state and national exam.
