Kaybay: How to convince your parents that you are responsible to have a hamster?
We will probably move in December to a new part of town my parents said I could maybe get one after we settle in but who knows how long that will take. My parents are worried about the smell and the noise at night. I would be on my own level in the new house.

you should remember to do all the things your parent usually have to tell you to do
if you do that then they will think you are responsible and then they will get you one.
and for the smell just tell them to buy those glade plugin things
Answer by roderick_youngWell, it is true that the hamster will likely run its wheel all night. It’s not that loud, as long as it’s not right by the bedrooms.
As for the smell, they could visit someone who has a hamster, to see what it’s like. Not that strong, in my opinion, but never know who will be allergic to what.
To convince your parents you are responsible, keep your room clean, including a blank space where the cage will go. And finish your homework. It will only be a few weeks (maybe just a few days, if they’re easily impressed) before they realize that you’re ready.

Be responsible and help out around the house 🙂
the smell: make sure to clean the hamster’s cage weekly
the noise: you can put vegetable oil on the hinges so the wheel doesn’t squeek (i do this and it is harmless and works well)
hope i helped and good luck 🙂
Answer by Maya1) find the things u are going to need, the cost, and if possible the money to pay for the expenses
2) approach ur parents and explain that the hamster is going to be ur responsibility NOT theirs
3) it could take up to a few months for ur parents to obligate to getting a hamster, but don’t be a pest and keep asking, they will get annoyed
4) once u are settled, confront ur parents again
5) grease ur wheel (keeps noise down)
6) train ur hamster to be less noctornal (sleeps in day, awake at night) and more a day hamster (tee hee) by taking it out as often as possible and letting it run around
7) clean the cage once a week for minimal smell
8) that should satisfy ur needs for low noise and the smell, good luck and hope this helpsAnswer by Sierra
A way to convince your parents that you can have a hamster is to bug them to death about one. That is how i got my grandma to get me a bunny, a rat,and a australian budgie (parakeet). If that doesn’t work try persuading. State all the facts and how you will pay for it and that you are responsible enough to own one. Also, make a deal if you have to, say (exp. you will clean your room with out having to be asked, or cleaning the kitchen or doing the laundry. I have to clean everything in the house but that does not make it reasonable.Answer by ♥Dog Crazy♥
Just don’t give up. Make a presentation, promise you’ll do all the work and show them pictures of adorable little hamsters. That’s how I convinced my mom to let me get a hamster… I’ve had 3 so far (my current one being Lola). Research all you can and know everything you need to know, all the little details, like what food they should eat, safe bedding (no pine or cedar) and that they can’t take baths. Good luck!Answer by Jelly Jonas
well my mom told me do research about them and stuff like that and do stuff around the house or tell them to trust you and that you are responsibleAnswer by Michael
Try to look more responsible (if BEING more responsible is too much :D) DO more chores around the house, do chores better, do your hw (if not already) work harder over all. Put some resaearch into it, like what you need for a hamster and how you’ll take care of it 100%. Mabye even get a book or two from the library about owning hamsters. Every little thing helps.
