I am 15 years old and I want to start boxing as a sport. I want to do it as a sport and maybe for a little self defense and fighting reasons. Buy my mom says that they sport is dangerous and she doesn’t want my face ruined. What are some things that I can say to my mom to let her know its ok? What are some good things that you think she should know so she can let me start boxing?

get higher grades in school then ask for anything you like.
I’m 14 and i boxe. Tell your mother that boxing is just as safe as school sports. Tell her about good mouthguards that keep your jaw, teeth and brain protected (from concusions) Try to get good grades and maintain them. If your school has it, join the chess club, it’s the best thing for your brain, boxing is like human chess. Soccer, lacrosse and football are amoung the top ten most danerous sports, not boxing. Just be safe and don’t go nuts. You don’t have to be Mike Tyson the first time out, learn slowly and don’t forget to get a good mouthpiece.Answer by Marcos
– tell her that boxing is in the mind. its really more of a mind sport like chess
– tell her you never learn without experience
– tell her you just want to TRY and see how it is only for a few
– tell that you wont get into a fight without your trainer approval *when he thinks youre ready the firsts months are all about shadowboxing.
sht i dont know just do itAnswer by Enzo
Hi,
Why don’t you start by going to a non contact boxing class and once your mum seeing the increase in fitness, confidence and boxing technique maybe she will let you attend a boxing club where you can spar.
Most prole who have never boxed are unaware of the technical side of the sport and the fitness benefits.
