Ok my dad said that i can get a parakeet. He wants one too! My mom says as long as its ok with my dad, its ok with her! He thinks that i should get it at christmas. But i wanna get him maybe in like a week. How do i convince him to get one before christmas?

Christmas time is hectic with friends and family coming and going. A new bird needs time to settle in and some quiet time to get used to her new family and new home. Xmas is not a time to introduce any sort of interactive animal . Just the opening of presents would be enough to send the bird into a tizzy. Either get the bird now or wait till after Xmas.—-Yogi

You need to get a baby. Right now is the end of the babies for this year. Anything you see after now til around next May will be older. Birds normally have 3 clutches of babies each summer. If you could get a hand fed baby,…ask your pet store,..it would excellent. A hand fed baby was raised on a syringe with formula several times a day til weaned and has no fear of people. Hand fed babies cost more due to all the work involved, but worth it!

at christmas it is hectic and by then all the birds mite be all gone if you wont a bird get one now while there young don’t you

Have you ever considered a Lineolated Parakeet?

they are awesome…

sometimes…. waiting awhile makes it even more special.

You could consider going to a breeder who hand feeds and hand raises. Pick out a baby that is not ready yet, but you still get to see it and come visit it.
Then when it is ready to go, the breeder will call you and then, perhaps,
you could get it before Christmas?
