coitus interruptus means literally to interrupt sex (it is Latin for interrupted intercourse)
this is when a man “pulls out” before he cums

pregnancy can still occur using this method as there may be sperms present in the fluid that a man produces well before he actually ejaculates.

the only 100% safe method of birth control is not to have sex!! Best to use a condom if that isn’t an option!!!

It is a form of conception.It means an inerrupted form of sexual act. Man ejaculates not inside, but out. Me and my husband use it. It’s not so great for the man. My husband feels it’s O.K. and doesn’t want to quit.

As for your question…. it’s probably still in latin because by the time there were English named methods of contraception around they’d figured that coitus interruptus was not a method at all, so didn’t worry about updating the name!

When you think about it it kind of is like the symptoms of a bad cold…. Ewwwww!
