You probably should do a bit more research about birds before bringing one home!
They are very loud, messy, destructive & needy pets, they bite and are hard to train!
Here is a great website all about parrots, and what life is really like with one.

it depends on where you live how much a bird costs.
Also “red and colorful” describes many types of birds.
Answer by CaitlinParrot prices can range around $ 500-1000, depending on where you get them. If you get them from a rescue group, they will be ALOT cheaper.[:
A cage at a petstore is about $ 500 also.Answer by T H
Your thinking of a scarlet macaw. But I warn you, They live 85 years, they chew, they poop every ten minutes, they need a huge expensive cage, they scream, they need toys, they can cost over 2000$ and over 100$ a month for up keep, they need 12 to 16 hours of attention a day. Oh, and if he bites you
He can tear off a 4th of your finger. Oh, and theres no guarantee he will like you and do tricks and talk. and you have to trim their nails and beak.Answer by azeranski
there are hundreds of species. which one do you mean? the smallest parrot (a parrotlet) can be about $ 100, and the largest (hyacinth macaw) can be $ 10000. Some rare species cost more. and that doesnt include cage and vet care. you should research types of parrots, what care they require, noise level, life span, and find a bird that fits your lifestyle. theres a great book called “Good Parrotkeeping” you could probably get at barnes & noble, petco, or online. it goes through most species and what they need. it took me a while to figure out what type of bird i wanted. youtube always helps to see how that type of bird behanves.
