How much should an average birthday gift card cost?

Lady Gaga!: How much should an average birthday gift card cost?
I am planning on buying my friend a gift card for her birthday, but only because she asked for one. She is turning 13 and wants a gift card to either Nordstrom’s or Forever 21. I’ve never really bought just a gift card for someone and am wondering how much should be on it. Be honest and answer using your best judgment. Just tell me how much you’d give her. How close are you with this friend?
If you have known her for a long time and she means a lot to you than I would do 40 to 50 dollars

If you are not that close to her or you just met her this year I would do 20 dollars.

I think the max should be fifty dollars and the least amount should be twenty
