Kellie: How much science do occupational therapists actually need to know?
How much science do occupational therapists actually need to know? I am interested in OT, but hate science and have a hard time comprehending it. Will I need to do a lot of science to become an OT?

Occupational therapy programs contain a lot of science, also tons of anatomy and physiology. You must know every aspect of the human body and how it works. Its a tough program, but you can do it if you really want it. Best of luck to you.
Drop by a college in your area and pick up a course catalog. You can look up your program of study and find out exactly what classes are needed. It will vary some between different schools but that will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.
Good luck!
Answer by AnonymousI would imagine a lot. As a massage therapist in WA, my course had almost 300 hours of straight science, out of an 850 hour course. I would think that an OT would go through much more science.
