kev: How much of chemistry and how much of maths is there in Chemical Eng?
I need some advice about opting for chemical eng.
I did my A-levels and got As in all of my mains (maths, physics and chemistry), but i worked significantly better in maths and physics. Still, i feel extremely interested with the practical side of chemical engineering. I just want to know how much of chemistry there is in CE..so that i try to consolidate my chemistry a lot more. i really like chemistry, but i’m much better at maths.

Chemical Engineering, there you go!! CHEMISTRY.. that’s what you’re going to do for the rest of your life. You need:
General Chemistry
Organic Chemistry
Physical Chemistry
Inorganic Chemistry
Quantum Chemistry
and a LOT MORE… about MATH, like ANY OTHER ENGINEERING!!! you need:
Calculus (Differential, Integral, Vector)
Infinite and Power Series
Differential Equations
Linear Algebra (Maybe)
that’s pretty much it for the common engineer.
I’m am Nuclear and thank god I don’t have to take CHEMISTRY at all. but I do have to take a lot more math than you, and physics.
