Sam: How many steps should a teenager take in one day?
I recently got a pedometer, and I was wondering how many steps I should be taking every day. I am a teenager, so I don’t know if that plays a role in the question.

Everybody should shoot for 10,000 steps per day.

It’s generally recommended that everyone get 10,000 steps a day most days of the week. But really, the more the better! Walking is a great activity for toning your legs. It also has great cardio benefits, especially if you walk fast. To do this, resist the temptation to “powerwalk”. Long strides and lifting your arms high throws your body out of alignment. Take short, comfortable steps and let your arms swing naturally. To increase your speed and cardio benefits, start swinging your arms faster, and you will find your feet speeding up to match. If you do this you’ll find yourself out of breath quite quickly! It’s a surprisingly good workout.
