If you chose to convert to Islam, so be it. Your choice. Obama reached out to the Arab world, b/c without their support, we’re not going to be able to fight terrorism across the world. Try if we might, but we will fail.

For a detective you either cannot be a problem solver or heard the wrong speech, I didn’t hear a call to Islamic prayer but a warning a advise to Muslims that we want peace and will have peace no matter what their leaders want, I liked that he tried to reach their young. Obama’s performance in Cairo, 4 Jun 2009, as PR/supplicant for the USA catering to the Muslim Arab world, is a tactic that has had a mixed record of success when dealing with antagonistic Middle Eastern entities.

His speech was indirectly trying to convert practicing Muslims (or at least have them consider) into Muslims with more liberal democratic values, like universal human rights, universal human self-determination and independence, and rule by consensually determined laws equally applied to all citizens of a nation, as opposed to the dead-end methods of blood revenge violence against civilians, theocratic Sharia-world oppression, and dhimmitude for non-Muslim parts of the planet. Let’s restate that – DEAD-END methods.

In re your ?, his speech imo had just the opposite effect, ie, worldwide Muslims should consider modifying traditional Islamic practices, if they dare, and if they want to risk joining other Muslim nations that have attained significant economic success and relative peace and security for their residents.

I was not a big fan of Barack Hussein last November, but I fully recognize him as the elected POTUS, and wish him the best in his administration’s leadership judgements.

His performance at Cairo University today was very good imo, one that was helped by his personal characteristics including his Muslim name.

I’d like to mention that there are many valid and detailed criticisms of aspects of his speech on the web that should be perused, but that detract from the speech’s objectives, imo.

I don’t know. . .I never thought of it like that. . .But I know a lot of people do think that.
he may just be trying to tell people that islam is not a bad religion and we should have respect for it. ?
I also think that islam is a great religion, I’ve grown up with it and I really hurts me when poeple think of us as terrorists. Because if you’re a terrorist, you’re not a true muslim.
It also does not deny women their rights at all, in fact, it gives us more dignity.

Just because he got a HUSSEIN name in his full-name does not give you the right to say such NONESENSE.

Obama seek a new start for a new world. He never said/mentioned anything about converting.
He only want America , and non Muslims, to respect Islam, and the SAME GOES FOR MUSLIMS.
