cookiesareyummy: How many entrance exams are you allowed to take for applying into a high school?
Ok, i was talking to my friend and she says that when you enter a high school you need to choose the one you like best and do the entrance exam and you cant take any more entrance exams after that. But my mom says that you can take an entrance exam for as many high schools as you want but you can only take one entrance exam per school. Who is right?

What city do you live in? This really varies from place to place.
In NYC, not all high schools have entrance exams. Some do, and the specialized schools have one exam (the SHSAT) that places kids into all of the specialized schools.
Your question doesn’t sound like you live in NYC. But maybe I misunderstood you?

It kind of depends where you live and what the rules are in your school district. It varies from place to place.
In my city, there’s no such thing as an “entrance exam” for high school. If you get through middle school, you go to your assigned high school (we don’t have school of choice in my district… the school you’re assigned to is based on your street address).
