Until the mom kicks the baby out of the nest or the first signs of winter.

Answer by KatyaI can tell you that I got a parakeet that is 4 months old. So apparently, mothers stay with their young less than 4 months – then the little parakeets can live on their own.Answer by Melon-Collie
Young budgies typically fledge (leave the nest) around their fifth week of age and are usually completely weaned a week later, at which time they no longer rely on their parents. Often the baby will fledge before it can actually fly and the hen will feed the baby on the ground until it finds it’s wings.
It does of course vary from bird to bird (can be a week shorter or a week or 2 longer) but that is pretty much average.
If a hen is wanting to breed again she will try to get the babies out of the nest ASAP so she can use the nest for the next clutch.
