Nice lady: How long does it take to get a divorce? How much does divorce cost in MI?
My husband and I want to file a divorce together. We don’t want to fight each other. We talked and agreed with everything we want. We are separated almost 2 years. We are good friends because of our 15 years old son. We want to be singles.

I got married young the first time (in Indiana) and we got divorced a year after we married. We went to the courthouse and filed for a divorce. We had no kids and we worked out who got what among ourselves and no lawyers were involved. I think it cost $ 15 to file for a divorce.

for me, it was in ND. It only cost $ 600 cause we didn’t fight about anything. And it only took 3 days! 🙂

Be prepared for at least 6 months. There is a waiting period in Michigan after you file when you have children. I am pretty sure it is 6 months. Plus you should get a lawyer even if it is the same one just to make sure everything is ok.Answer by Nicholas Cage
