How is the skin connected to the body cavities?

Jesus is Lord: How is the skin connected to the body cavities?
I am trying to understand the order of the human body layers. I there is the skin layer and then you have the cavity wall what is in between the skin layer and the cavity wall?

The subcutaneous fat is under the skin, then fascia and muscle. Then there is usually the outer wall of the cavity in question.
