Christian D: How is geometry related into making skateboards?
I am doing a paper on how geometry is related to designing and making skateboards. I just need a little bit of info on how they use it and any concepts from geometry or vocab used in designing them.

the side edges of the skateboard should be parallel to each other
otherwise you’d have a weird lookin board
using geometry u could draw a transverse line (transversal) across the board, and the alternate interior angles should be equal, this proves that the side edges are in fact parallel
Answer by LeMairIt’s also a lot more technical than that!
There are many factors in deck construction, like concave (how curved the wood is), steepness of the tail and nose (which adds leverage to the board for help with ollies and flip tricks), veneer thickness (affects weight and how it will move in the air) and wheelbase (also affects the leverage).
These all require precise measurements of length, and correct angle degrees.
You also have stuff like wheel width, as a thinner wheel creates less friction etc, bearing size (standard or micro) which affects speed and roll consistency, truck shape (aerodynamacy, pivotal points, turning degree).
So I guess you could say there are lots! I wish I could put it into more accurate mathematical terms. This video should help though:
