: How hard is a college anatomy class?
Monday i’ll be starting my anatomy class, and to be honest I’m super nervous! I did alright in biology ( C+) But I’m really worried about this class, you need a B- to make it into the nursing program at the college I attend. Does anyone have any studying techniques, or basic tips for this class? I’m really looking for anything to settle my nerves.

Hi Kelli,
Human Anatomy in college is alot more detailed than anatomy in high school. It involved some reading and a lot of memorization. The techniques I used involved using note cards for memorizing the muscles, spending time in the lab to go over the material, and reviewing. From my experience I would not say it is difficult, just a lot of work. If you put the time into studying and learning the material you will do quite well.
Answer by ReneeAnatomy classes at the college level are far more advanced than what you study in high school. However, there is a level of overlap between the two as the fundamentals are the same.
My own favorite method to study anatomy and physiology is to use memory maps and flowcharts. The sheer volume of the subject means there’s tons to memorize (bones, muscles, nerves, tissues).
So, apart from textbooks, I would recommend getting a multimedia series on the subject so that you can visually memorize the study notes. This will help you prepare for your exams with a better chance of higher grades.
