Kristi Y: How good is ear piercing at piercing pagoda?
I wanted to know from people who have gotten their ear lobes pierced at piercing pagoda if it’s a good place to have it done.
I was also wondering about the price of everything. I know that the ear piercing is free with purchase of ear piercing earrings, but how much do those cost?

Piercing Pagoda and other similar places use a piercing gun which is not a safe or sanitary way to have anything pierced. When someone is pierced with a piercing gun it does blunt force damage to the tissue which creates a micro-spray (invisible to the human eye) of blood and plasma that lands on the piercing gun, they usually wipe down the gun with rubbing alcohol or similar product which does not kill staph or hepatitis, then they use that same gun that has now been infected with whatever and put it up to the next persons ear and make a new open wound. How much do you trust the random stranger that got pierced before you, or the 30 people that got pierced before them for that matter? Don’t risk your health, go to a professional piercer that uses a new sterile hollow needle every time they pierce. You’ll experience less pain, better quality jewelry, less scar tissue build up, and quicker healing times. If you still aren’t convinced then just do a yahoo search for “why piercing guns are bad”.
the cheapest earrings are $ 8. they charge an extra $ 2 for cartilage. but any knowledgeable piercer will tell you, gun piercings are not the way to goAnswer by Tammy K
Both my children had their ears pierced at Piercing Pagoda. They both have double pierced ears, so we have been there four times. Their shop was always very clean and the people were very professional. We are all happy with the results. Someone has already posted against Piercing Pagoda because they use a piercing gun instead of a needle. This is a debate that will never end. Thousands of people, perhaps even millions, have had their ears pierced with a piercing gun and never had any problems. No matter where or how you have your ears pierced, the important thing is to keep them clean during the six week healing period and follow the directions you are given for caring for your ears while they heal.
