Steven: How do you know when nose piercing is clean?
My girlfriend just got her nose pierced, and she’s kind of freaking out ha. Her dad and her dad’s girlfriend told her that when it is clean that the piercing will not want to move if you move it, and when it isn’t clean then the piercing will move. But both me and my girlfriend were thinking that, that sounds kind of mixed up. So please help if you can.

First, I’m not an expert and I highly suggest you ask a professional piercer.
But I don’t think that knowing when it’s clean has anything to do with how it moves. Mine is always quite movable (though the less I mess with it the better), and I cleaned it consistently 2 times a day with the solution given to me by the piercer for the first two weeks as instructed, and I’ve been cleaning it with Dial soap every few days since then, also as instructed.
I don’t think there’s really any obvious way to tell that it is clean. Just swab the solution around the piercing and leave it alone. Tell her not to mess with it too much or over-clean it. One thing I DO know about is that over-cleaning can cause the body to think that whatever wound (or piercing) is there isn’t meant to be there if it is being constantly fiddled with, and it won’t do its natural process of healing. Sometimes this leads to infection. I know this from personal experience.
A lot of piercers have different methods and instructions, but so far I haven’t gone wrong with the piercing I received, so I’ll give you and your girlfriend the link to the site of my piercer.

I hope this helps in some way. I still think your girlfriend should check with a real piercer, though. Good luck to you and her!
