Cranberry sauce comes in a can (cylinder) and when you slice it up, you could figure out the volume (πr^2 * h) by the area of each circle (πr^2) times how many 1-unit cuts you made (h).
The pumpkin pie (or pi, no pun intended!) is a circle, you could find area and circumference of the pie.
