A7X Girl: How does a GED affect your life? In this case.?
I’m 15, my grades are really slipping.
I don’t plan on going to college of any kind.
I either want to be:
– a rhythm guitarist in a band
– a tattoo artist
– a real estate agent (probbly not, but it’s a choice
– a stylist (hair, makeup, etc)
– a clothing designer
– piercer/tattooer.
How would a GED affect my life?

You would probably most definitely need to have a GED or HS diploma to become a real estate agent. To be a clothing designer, you’d probably need one as well, as you would be competing with a lot of other people, most of whom would have one. Maybe not to be a stylist, but it would certainly help, as salons would be more likely to hire people who would be more likely to do the math and such related to accepting payments and making change and such. As for the tattoo artist and piercers, etc, maybe not, but it couldn’t hurt, you’d have the same situation with tattoo shops preferring people who can add and subtract dollar amounts and such, although artistic talent is more of a priority for tattooists, I’d imagine. Also piercers would have to learn to operate the autoclave, which while not highly difficult, it is a rather costly device, and some people might be more comfortable with someone who has one. As for being in a band, well obviously its not a requirement, although it really is tough to be successful as there are so many thousands of artists you’d be competing with out there.
