Kathy: How does a friendship with a cat differ from that with a dog?
People have a different outlook on cats and dogs. How does the friendship of an owner differ with cats and dogs? One doesn’t really give more affection than the other.

cats are mostly dependent, they lay around, clean them self, fend for them self… all you need to do is feed them and they’ll be happy hanging around you. dogs, though, need to go for walks, need let outside to go potty and need a lot of training and are ALWAYS there for you. when cats just don’t care :p i’d choose a dog over cat anyday, though i love both animals.
Cats care! Just because they’re not around you 24 hrs a day doesn’t mean they don’t care. They like their alone time that’s all! Dogs are great also but they’re very high maintenance so for people that can’t keep their dog entertained 24/7 have unhappy dogs.
I love my cats!Answer by Dani
A friendship with a cat and dog is very different. Cats are more independant while dogs totally depend on you for most things. Dogs are better “friends” since people have to do more things for them, but it is so rewarding:)Answer by It’s a Username!
I think they both show equal affection, just in different ways.
Dogs are more obvious. They wag they’re tail furiously and jump all over you, lick you, etc. They like to show they’re love in a flashy and close sort of way. Aggression with a good intent I guess.
Cats are more independent and discreet. For example, when I’m laying down, my cat will lay by my side and start to purr, and I’ll feel weird if I don’t pet him. He’ll also climb on my chest when I’m about to go to sleep, rub his head on my face, sometimes lick me, purr. He’s not as aggressive (unless he’s playing).
I love both. They’re so cute.

Cats are usually just independent animals that just take care of themselves. Dogs are more of a “man’s best friend” since there more playful and energetic. I am a cat owner and love cats and dogs but just find that dogs are more active.
