Bianca: What is the correct way to eat a fortune cookie so that the fortune comes true?
I’m not saying that you have to believe in the Chinese superstition behind the fortune, but I was just curious as to what you think is the correct way or order of cracking, eating, and reading so that the fortune will come true. My friend says that you have to eat the cookie first and then read your fortune.

It doesn’t really matter since they’re printed by machine and usually are more like funny sayings than actual fortunes.

It has always been tradition in my family to break the fortune cookie and eat a little piece of it, before you read the fortune to ensure the fortune comes true.

If you want your fortune to come true, do NOT eat the cookie.
If you do NOT want the fortune to come true, eat the cookie.
I use to go to New York’s China Town, and Philly’s China Town; and this is the way the owners of my favorite places said to do it. They’re Chinese, so should know.

I always thought you’re supposed to crack open the middle, read the fortune while its still in the cookie, and THEN eat it.
