How do i tell my mom that i want to start wearing make up?

MeMeMe: How do i tell my mom that i want to start wearing make up?
i want to start wearing make up, but im afraid to tell my mom. im sure she’d be fine with it, but im just afraid to be “hey mom! i wanna wear make up.” i wouldn’t wear too much, just mascara, a little eye liner, and some natural colored eyeliner. any tips to get me over my little “phobia” of asking?

well it depends how old you are. id say if youre older than 13 its fine.

but the way i did it was when we went to the mall, i told my mom, hey im going to the makeup section at cvs.

she was totally fine with it.

Just come right out and say it. Just say, Mom, I think its about time I wear makeup. What I did was I wore the makeup to school, and then my mom say it when she picked me up and she was fine with it. Just say, Mom, I think its about time that I wear makeup

just put it on and see what she says.. if she say u look good, then keep doing it… if she ask “waht that on your face??” then say its her make up u tried on

just ask her… i did that and she said yes… although for some odd reason she wont let me wear eyeliner, but anything else shes fine with… wierd right, but just ask her it will b fine, unless your under 10, then u should let your natural beuty shine

Just say, “Would you teach me how to do makeup?” And then you guys can go out and get a little and have a nice time learning to put it on. 🙂

I think you should ask her to come shopping and look at the make-up section and pick something you like a say like “I love this soo much” and see what your mum says, if she says something along the lines of “I thought you didn’t wear makeup” just tell her that you’d like to start and I’m sure she’d even be happy to buy you some.

Edit: You don’t wanna be rude about asking her or start an argument in case she says no so try to be as nice and sweet as possible 😉

This is one of those things where you just have to take the plunge. Don’t wait until you’re over being afraid. Go ahead and feel your anxiety but do it anyway. She’s your mom. She’s not going to be mean to you. So, what are you afraid of? Maybe you’re afraid of seeing the look on her face that says that you growing up makes her sad? Well, you’re going to be seeing that look a lot since you are growing up. So, you might as well step right up and say “Hey mom, can we go buy some mascara?” or something like that.

Just do it. NO asking is needed. This is a free country; there is not reason for you to not wear makeup.
