Matthew: Where do I start in Politics and joining a Political Party?
I have grown an interest in Politics but don’t know where to start and how. I was elected in Grade School but forgot to attend the meetings and such, as a result lack the ideas, beliefs and attitudes within Politics but would like to join a Political Party and involved in Politics. I have never been in trouble with the Police and have no intentions of committing a crime, nor do I even have the mindset to commit a crime. I’m also thinking of joining the Freemasonry.
I’m now 24 but for some reason look much younger and smaller than my age group???
I do feel down for homeless people and also like to help out with my community. I have also thought of donating blood and volunteering to help the Homeless and the Mentally Challenged people. If it’s too late or me not being allowed in becoming a Politician, then I will understand. I will move on to I.T as a Career. I just need to know where can I start or if it’s too late for me to join in Politics.
I have been thinking of studying Liberal Arts, Political Science and Law since near the end of last year. I have even researched the legislation and amendments of my country.
I see you like Rainbow Dash. I like Yoshi from Nintendo.

Well first of all “Freemasonry” isn’t a political party, it’s a secret society and is completely irrelevant to what you want. First of all, check out where your political beliefs fall on the political spectrum, and then see what party associates most with that. Most parties will let you become a member after you make a donation. To actually become directly involved into politics (i.e. become a politician) you will need connections (knowing a senator/alderman/representative) in which case you can work for them as an intern as well as have some kind of degree (most relevant being political science, international studies, and law).

You say you keep thinking about doing a lot of different things. Maybe, just maybe, before you run for a political office, you DO some of those things.
Seems like before you can decide what political party you wish to belong to, you need to figure out who you are and what is important to you.
Answer by Poor RichardFreemasonry is not a political party, and is very apolitical in nature. In truth true masonic lodges do not discuss politics or religion based on the fact that such subjects distract from the organizations overall unifying nature. However it is not unique to being a successful person, you can aquire the same skills of leadership and community service in any orgaization you desire to join whether it be Boy Scouts or even the Lions club.
Freemasonry is not a pass to success either, while many of the members have been a whos who in political and business life, the work you do is all your own, and membership is an expression of willingness to do what is right by yourself and others (being able to look yourself in the mirror every day) We call it the craft for a reason, because it is noble work and we like to do it nobly.
