Tenepe: How do I safely remove a mp3 player from my computer?
I have a Sandisk Sansa Fuze, and the icon to “safely remove hardware” never shows up in the toolbar in the lower right corner of my computer, like it does with other hardware that uses the USB. I have just been making sure Windows Media Player and any other programs are closed before unplugging it. I am just wondering if there is any way to “stop” my Sansa before disconnecting it from my computer. I use Windows XP, if that can affect it at all.

I only use iTunes so I’m not totally familiar with WMP and the devices that use it. If it shows up under My Computer, right click it and choose Eject or Safely Remove. If it doesn’t show up there but does in WMP, it’s probably the same process.
In the bottom right corner, there should be an icon that (when you hover your cursor over it), says safely remove hardware. Right click it, select the USB drive, and then it will say “safe to remove hardware”.
