How do I “restart” a Frigidaire when the light of “power off” is on?

Bonnie: How do I “restart” a Frigidaire when the light of “power off” is on?
We had a power outage yesterday at our house. Our Frigerdaire freezer now has light that indicated “power off”. We tried to unplug the freezer and plug, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas for me before I have to call a technician?

perhaps the circuit for the outlet that it is plugged into is blown. Check your circuit breaker panel. Another thought is that the freezer may have a built-in overload protection somewhere. Check around the controls or around the compressor for a button (usually red, but not always) and if it is present press it.
