carottopgrl: How do I delete Microsoft Outlook emails without opening the program?
My mother doesn’t delete emails (don’t ask why, I don’t know) and the computer has become really loaded down with all of them. In fact, if you try and open the Microsoft Outlook program, the computer will crash. Is there anyway I can clear it out without opening the program?

As far as I know Outlook keeps ALL its data in a single file ending with .pst
So if you search for *.pst and delete it, that will clear EVERYTHING including Agenda, Notes etc as well as emails. (Make a note of the location where you found it – see the p.s.)
You might be able to see what the .pst file contains if you open it with Wordpad as it will probably be too big for notepad. It might take some time to open in Wordpad ‘cos you say it must be a BIG file.
p.s. You might want to make a copy of it first so you can replace it in case you find that you STILL can’t open Outlook and the problem is something else.
