Okay, So Im 14 and a half, I know y’all think thats pretty young. But I want to get my cartilages pierced and my bellybutton. But my mom has a problem with it, cuz apparently I will look like I’m in my 20’s. So what can i do to convince my mom to do it?

your a little too young for the belly button piercing but i think the cartlidge piercing is fine! it wont make you look any older its just an ear piercing 🙂
when your older like 16, is a good age to get your belly button pierced.

Ok belly button piercings are realllly….90’s. It makes you look like white trash. And really, the only reason girls did it when I was younger, was to draw attention to a “sexy” part of the body. You’re 14. You don’t need to.

Trust your mom. She’s lived a lot longer than you have. I know that’s hard to understand…I was a slutty little 14 year old too.

I’ve known every piercing I’ll ever want or will get since I was 7. I started researching everything by the time I was 10, and took the things I know wouldn’t look good or had a high rejection rate off my list, and just started begging my mom like crazy for my lip to be pierced when I turned 13. She told me I could get my navel(Belly) pierced instead, because I could hide it then. I ended up getting a keloid on the inside and outside of my belly button and took out my barbell because it hurt all the time. I have a shiny scar now, and I don’t care. I don’t regret it at all. I wanted it, I new the risks and I stand by my decision.
Look up every bit of information you can about the piercings you want, from cleaning to jewelry to keloids and rejection. Let your mom know all that you’ve learnt and just keep asking every once in a while. She may give in. Good luck.

well i think that if you act responsibly and maybe tell her also that after these two piercings, you wont get anymore…i admire you for choosing those two piercings, because later in life, they wont effect your job unlike nose, lip, or eyebrow piercings…

remind her that your belly would be covered all the time anyways, except for summer of coarse…make her a deal that you would just get a little stud in your cartlidge (i would only get one done).

good luck! even if she says no, see if she is willing to compromise to do one of them…and maybe wait a year or two to do the other

i was 14 when i got my nose pierced
the way i ended up convincing my mom was i begged
her like every day. Just buy fake ones and wear them all the time
i remember bought little rhinestones and wore them on my nose till
she finally let me get the real thing

i dont think having your belly button pierced is slutty at all i think its cute so go for it

Make a deal with her that you will bring a grade up in school or do better on your chores or something like that. Remind her that piercings are not permanent and that you can take it out if you dont keep up on your end of the deal.

First off belly piercings aren’t slutty they are cute (I have two). Just wait until you are older because at 14 you are still going out and getting dirty (high school gym) or rough housing and that can cause you to get an infection and believe me those aren’t fun. Just wait a little while until you’re 16 or 17 and done being a kid. As far as ear piercing goes those are alright at your age. Just tell your mom they will help with self image or confidence. I don’t know really what to say because I never had to ask my mom for it.

Honestly, belly button piercing at 14 is slutty and it’s like begging for attention for boys to look at your body. The cartilage is fine at 14.
If your mom says no, I promise you, it will stay no until your 18 and can legally do it yourself. If you get it done with someone who is 18 and you come home and your mom freaks out and sews the place you got it done at, they will make new rules like you have to be 18, and 18 only. No one under 18 can get their bellybutton pierced. And that will ruin things for people who’s parents will allow it. (Even though they shouldn’t’t at 14)
Maybe you should just give it a rest and try for your 16th birthday…

alot of piercings looks trashy so i would think about it…
but the ear one is okay, just not the belly…
