I received a request to verify information for my Yahoo account. I went to check the sending location and the search engine couldn’t find it. So how do I know this was a valid Yahoo request.

There is a scam going around to members of all the email services asking for an ID and Password to continue the account. An email provider will NEVER ask for a password in an email for an account. Ignore it.

Delete/spam it, yahoo has your info and does don’t ask for that information.
