If they are in your “spam” folder—then you (and Yahoo)are successfully blocking them from your inbox. The “spam” folder belongs to Yahoo and they’ll empty it at a preset time. Most people just ignore the spam folder (unless they’re specifically looking for a lost email).
You can change the “preset deletion time” if you want—-to “delete immediately upon arrival” (you’ll never see any of them).
Mail page>>options (top right)>>mail options>>spam protection. If you make any changes—be sure to click “save changes”.
You appear to have already done what you want.
Tantalizing as it is,just ignore the spam folder until a friend lets you know of an email that you missed and is perhaps in the spam folder.
Now would be a good time to check out disposable addresses and a strategy to use them to evade the spam that will almost certainly start flooding in.
