It’s way too obvious that you need your homework answered, but anyway I could care less, Islam got to East Africa because the Muslims had a trade route going through Africa, and there religion just spread… I don’t know the rest cuz my 7th grade history teacher was shit.

It arrived through SLAVING.
The Arab slave trade started earlier and finished later than the Western slave trade, it fas forced to end rather than ending voluntarily, and they had to capture extra boys because most were castrated and it was thought that Allah had been very merciful if more than one in ten survived.

the muslims arrived by sea, looking for slaves, ivory, slaves, ebony, slaves and gold. in that order. Extermination of the “infidels” being a bonus

the first bases were in Somalia (which was used as a invasion route against Ethiopia) and in Zanzibar (which was one of the three largest slave markets in the world- alongside Algiers and Chartoum)

they “transformed” the local cultures by exterminating them. In the vacant areas the “swahili” culture was created (a simplified form of arabic used by slave traders and their local helpers).

Some of the earlier cultures (eg. Chaga) persisted by fighting back and surviving till the colonisation by europeans stopped the slave raids. other cultures (Luo, Masai) survived by emigrating southwards, which temporarily moved them out of reach of the slave raids

The Arabs had trade routes to many places and most arabs became muslim so when they went to do buiseness they did preaching.
