Most rock bands just talk about the items you mentioned. I have wondered the same thing myself. Hearing the 900th song about drugs, fighting, etc just gets way old. It’s like, how many times can you rehash the same topic?

I suggest you try to find some more unique bands if you are getting tired of those topics you mentioned (not to diss the Rolling Stones).

Try some nerd rap. ytcracker can provide. He raps about video games and other funny nerdly business.

Thats ironic, because bands like the Beatles, who put out a few songs about imagination and friendship, were under the heavy influence of drugs when writing them, wrote them mostly as a counter movement to war, and often had sex overtones on the songs.
