Hannah: How come my brother is allowed to meet partners on the internet but Im not?
Im 18 and my brother is 16.IThe thing is my brother has met this girl on the internet and hes allowed to meet her offline but im not allowed to meet anyone – i feel the internet is the only way I can meet partners as Im pretty desperate.No one will date me cos Im disabled. My mom wants me to be the 40 yr old virgin and doesnt want me dating anyone.Its just not fair.

if your disabled she probably doesnt want you to get hurt as in get your heart broken because of your appearence or the way you do something differently than other people would. I could understand where your mom is comming from by not meeting anyone on the internet because what if you meet up with someone off the internet then they see you and dont want to be there. Some people can be jerks. I say that you meet someone the normal way. Meet, talk, date…Normal things like that(:

meeting people off the internet is a big no-no,look at the recent case of the woman that got killed when she met someone off of craigs list.

I’m sorry to hear this. Since you are 18, you are an adult and can make your own decisions. Ask your mom why you arn’t allowed…there has to be a reason. You are 18 and can do what you want.

Maybe your mum’s more protective over u because ur disabled, but you’re 18, you’re old enough to make your own decisions, so ignore her and do what’s right for you.

YOur 18 wow your allowed! Now if your under your parents care that is another story and you know exactly why. What ever your disability is that you have and having a boyfriend might be to much for your parents to handle. Do you think you can handle a boyfriend and sex and baby and that is what goes from there. Would you know how to handle an abusive boyfriend, a boyfriend who cheats and if you were to get pregnant well need i say handle a baby, boyfriend and your self. YOu must think of that, but you also need to tell your mother the not fair thing !

Be happy your mom cares for you more! She’s more protective of you because of your special condition.

Try to encourage your mom for her to let you join some other activities then there maybe you’ll find that special someone.
