JC: How can my sister dispute erroneous criminal charges on a background check?
Hello,
My sister had a background check ran for her job and it came back with an arrest charge in a town she has never been to. She has never been to this place so obviously never got arrested there, what can she do? How does she find out about what these charges are and who got arrested?

She will have to contact the county that placed this on her criminal history. It could actually be far worse than this. She could have been a victim of identity theft. If the person was arrested with her information they very well could have been fingerprinted and so on with your sisters information.
She can dispute it with the county…unfortunatly not a lot can be done over the phone, she will most likely have to either get the assistance of her local police or go to that town. Also, with every arrest there should be a booking photo…if it does not match then there you go. Booking photos are public record.
