mimi: How can I tell if a job on craigslist is a scam?
I look at these posts about jobs and ALOT seem like scams. On one of them the lady emailed me back and said she needed me to send her an updated credit report because part of the job consists of driving and making errands for them and people in the past have used her gas card without her knowledge and she didn’t want it to happen again. But a credit report? IDK, I didn’t do it, but what other ways can I spot a scam?

Don’t you hate when people respond to your questions advertising websites that “Are a sure fire way to make money” *Talking about the guy above me*
Anyway, I know certain jobs might do a credit check on you. You usually sign for it when you fill out applications, like when you agree to have a background check..etc. And sometimes it’ll even ask you if you’d like to see a copy of your report. However, I would only sign and agree if I went into an ACTUAL store to applied. Being that this is the internet, while she may or may not be trust worthy, I wouldn’t give that information out over the internet. And since it doesn’t sound like it’s an actual company, then just let her know that you’d love to work for her but you won’t give her that type of information. That’s like you being hired as someone’s personal Gardner and the gardeners in the past, went into her house and stole things so she wants their social security number to do a background check.
