David: How can I purchase stocks without going through a brokerage?
I want to buy some stocks on a budget ($ 300) but I don’t want to join a brokerage or anything. I want to purchase stocks and just keep them. Any information as to how and where would be greatly appreciated.

Most companies will sell you their stock directly. Give them a call.

Many companies, like Disney and Exxon, have Direct Purchase Plans. You can buy directly from the company. Check out their investor relations on the websites of the companies you are interested in.Answer by Frank Castle
I suggest you to buy a used Toyota Prius if you want to save thousands of dollars on gasoline.
If you only have $ 300.00 USD then you are not ready for the Stock Market yet.
Save at least $ 2,000.00 USD and then open a brokerage account at Zecco.
Answer by SWHLook into DRIPs — dividend reinvestment programs. There’s a bunch of companies that will sell you shares directly and love it if you set up an automatic purchase program.

Answer by Katherine WTry reading, “How to Buy Stocks Without a Broker.” There are companies that will provide info on which companies will allow you to buy stocks direct. The two best are www.drip-investor.com and www.moneypaper.com. You can also buy stocks through them, but you don’t need to. Something like 900 companies allow you to buy stocks directly. Google on “direct purchase stock” or “dividend reinvestment plan.”
