When they ring the bell, it means the stock trading day has started.
Usually the bell in the stock exchange is the thing thatstarts the stocks being exchanged and also ends it. So I guess the sentence is saying that the pepsi company was so influential that they had the priviledge of ringing that particular bell.Answer by *TrApStAr*
At the close of the trading day at the NYSE they have a ceremonial bell ringing, I think on days when the stocks climbed but maybe everyday. Different people are on the bannister, celebs and the likes, and they’re the bell ringers.
