Hand.Of.Light: How can i play tennis left handed when i am right hand dominant in everything?
I am right handed in everything even tennis but i heard that left handers have an advantage. Right now i started playing tennis last year when i was 12 so is it too late to change hands? Plus i started using my left hand during school also so would that help me become a left handed tennis player? If you can give me any advice on how to play pro level tennis left handed fell free to give me advice.

I can’t really give you any pointers because I’m a righty. Sorry. I just wanted to say congratulations for trying something different. You have a lot more will power than I do. Good Luck!

well, I don’t play tennis but i have trained myself to use both my right and left hands. I was born left-handed, but my grandmother thought it was a curse, so she made me use my right hand. Anyway, In order to do anything with your left hand, you just need to practice. keep using your left hand whether your eating, opening doors or writing. the more you use your left hand the easier it will get and the more comfortable you will be when using it in tennis. Remember: Your not just training your left hand, your also training the rest of your left arm. You have to make the muscles in your left as strong as the ones in your right arm.Answer by spectre280
If you want to play at high competitive levels I wouldn’t waste time learning how to play lefty. You should practice as much as you can with your dominant hand. The advantages aren’t that important. What’s important is skill. Trust me.Answer by Vincent K
well mate..your story is very much like the spanish bull no??
a natural righty who can only use his left for tennis….
rafa has been trained since young to hit shots with his left hand…
you’re about 13 now right? take it this way…if youre better with your right use ur right….if left use left..
if you were bout 5-6 then it makes a lot of difference…much easier to make a switch then…
at 13 u got a good shot to join the tennis team so better choose a hand and stay with it…
cheers
Answer by Dialathere is no such thing as an advantage for left handed playing!! not at all…as long as you are analogous to your axis and the court is analogous o it’s axis…then it shall make no difference whether you play right handed or left handed or both!!!Answer by jospeh o
I have been considering the same thing. I play tennis and badminton right handed but would love to start playing with my left. I can actually hit an ok forehand with my lefthand. I also practised writing with my left hand aswell. I have to say im pretty good at it.But for you i would imagine it would be very difficult to start playing lefthanded now if you wanted to be a pro. My advice is to keep using the right hand. I could be wrong but I think the advantage lefty’s have is that they are more used to playing right handers and right handers are more used to playing other right handers so it could be just a bit strange for them. I also think the ball spins the opposite when u hit it lefthanded?? Could be wrong about that, heard a commentator say it 🙂
