deeky deeky dusty.: How can I make the tennis team next year?
I don’t have much experience in tennis and the tryouts are in the beginning of August. One of my friends is on the tennis team and she said that there isn’t much competition. I was wondering what type of workouts I should do, what foods I should eat, and if I should take regular or private lessons.

If there is not much competition go for regular. That way you’ll get to have a bit more fun and be socialable while you learn the rules of the game. As for workouts and eating habites treat it like any other sport.
You don’t have to change your lifestyle altogether. Mainly I suggest practice sprinting and also jogging for long periods of time. You may have conditioning, so there’s a chance you’ll have to run several miles at a time or do lunges across the court. It depends on your school. Ask your friend what you guys do before getting on the team. Also, it’s very recommended to get a private tutor to fine tune your technique. Practicing without the right technique won’t do you any good. If there’s no competition you can have an experienced friend teach you some basics and hit together. After getting cut on freshman year, I did all of this over summer and got on Varsity as a sophomore. Make use of all the time you have left!Answer by desiray g
thats cool. I’m going to also try out in the summer. Im practicing to do serves and backhand. I’m practicing by playing badminton to get better at the serves. All I can say for the food is just to eat healthy, but not all at once. I think regular would do fine, even though you don’t have that much experience
